Manufacturing Technology Advisor Fermentation

The Manufacturing Technology (MT) advisor will champion MT related processes in multiple regions in the CSST environment to ensure optimal efficiency, operation, and capacity utilization of new, existing installations and MT management systems. The role will capture, share, and define deep fundamental analyses, best practices, and develop innovation for business excellence within Cargill worldwide. It will partner with the key stake holders of this function to capture and deliver both tangible and intangible value for Cargill.
Principal Accountabilities
Manufacturing Technology Design & Capabilities (40%)
Utilizes and deploys expertise of manufacturing technology principles and practices and partners with Engineering discipline leaders to deploy the 10 engineering discipline design requirements for a manufacturing technology that has the capability to deliver the product(s) and/or service(s) meeting the market requirements and internal/external risk tolerances and standards while achieving the best total cost to operate.
Development of Technology Transfer Packages for the relevant technologies in scope.
Partners with Functional Leadership (R&D, Engineering, Engineering R&D, Strategic Sourcing, CI, M&R, EH&S, FSQR) to implement/develop/define the design requirements for the manufacturing technology.
Provide deep subject matter expertise in customer related questions.
Responsible and accountable for translating technical process expertise to advise/consult on technology implementation of policies, procedures and standards as well as planning and execution of manufacturing technology assignments.
Collaborates across the regions to identify, monitor and where applicable, implement manufacturing technology design improvements for existing facilities.
Provides lessons learned from the regional technology to the manufacturing technology leader to continuously improve manufacturing technology design requirements.
Participates in industry organizations as the Manufacturing Technology SME representing Cargill to influence and keep abreast of regulations and/or RAGAGEP applicable to the manufacturing technology.
Manufacturing Technology Performance (20%)
Leads and Leverages organization capabilities of cross-functional internal and external resources to define, monitor, and improve performance of a manufacturing technology.
Through direct contact or team, initiate and/or develops partnership with customers/businesses to develop deep knowledge/understanding of the manufacturing setting, business product/service life cycle, environmental, and sustainability impact, future growth considerations, as well as overall cost of ownership and long-term usability of assets.
Provides relevant expertise to monitor manufacturing technology performance metrics and goals to assess effectiveness as well as overall business impact. Partners with regional Manufacturing Excellence Leadership to deploy performance metrics and challenge current performance.
Provides leadership, defines and establishes auditing and compliance for the manufacturing technology. Through established network enforces corporate benchmarking metrics and performance measurements to advise/consult on process improvement solutions that contribute to efficiency improvements.
Manufacturing Technology Education (10%)
Delivers a technical education program for targeted audiences (such as operators, line management, process engineer, build project manager, manufacturing technology lead, Engineering R&D) of the manufacturing technology.
Partners / collaborates with Operations Leaders to assess the technical competency and minimum standards that operators, line management, and a build team must achieve before building or operating the process independently within the manufacturing technology.
Partners with Manufacturing Excellence SME's to assist with the application of continuous improvement leading practices/tools to improve the manufacturing process cost and/or capabilities
Talent development (15%)
Creates plans for workforce needs to support the manufacturing technology within the regions.
Delivers functional leadership, coaching and manages process engineers that directly support the manufacturing technology.
Accountable for or partners with managers of process engineering that directly support manufacturing technology in performance management, talent development and succession planning.
Manufacturing Technology Innovation and Road mapping (15%)
Co-accountable with the manufacturing technology area lead (MTL) for deploying the strategy, vision, direction, long-term solution for manufacturing technology within the regions.
Champions and leverages strong business/customer partnership to ultimately influence changes to bridge technology gaps within the regions. Champions and promotes long-term sustainability of process improvement and leading practices.
Degree in Engineering/Food Science/Biotechnology based discipline (or equivalent).
At least 10 years working experience in operations, manufacturing technology, R&D and/or engineering.
Knowledge of fermentation and/or down stream processes
Extensive knowledge of at least one of the relevant processes.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills, preferably multi-lingual.
The ability to work effectively in a matrix organization with cross-cultural and functional teams.

Demonstrated ability to understand complex operational, engineering and business activities.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
