Environment Services/Housekeeping- Job Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the Maintenance Director or designee, incumbent will work to keep buildings in clean and orderly condition. The incumbent's job duties will include, but are not limited to cleaning floors, shampooing rugs/carpets, washing walls and glass, removing rubbish, cleaning/sanitizing bathrooms, dusting, notifying management of need for repairs, and removing debris from the sidewalk.
Incumbent will assist in the laundry department as needed to include, but not limited to collecting, sorting, laundering, distributing facility and resident personal clothing.
Education/Training/Work Experience Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language in both the written and verbal form.
Previous experience cleaning health care environments as plus.
Physical Demands and Typical Working Conditions
Work is performed indoors in a health care facility. Noise level is usually moderate, but may be loud at times.
Work is typically performed during the day shift, but hours may occasionally vary based departmental needs. The incumbent will work the equivalent of every other weekend and every other holiday. Overtime hours may be required to meet departmental and staffing needs.
Incumbents may be exposed to infectious/communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens and/or body fluids and excrement. Incumbent may be exposed to chemicals used to clean the environment or to launder linens/clothing.
Incumbent may be exposed to individuals that may be demanding or distraught.
Work may be stressful when dealing with the multiple demands of the position and/or time constraints.
Must be able to safely lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds as well as being able to push/pull up to 50 pounds of force, to include lifting garbage bags and pushing housekeeping carts/laundry carts.
Visual and hearing abilities correctible to normal ranges.
Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination necessary for operation of equipment/machines and for the performance of job duties.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
